Community Councils

In Utah each school has a Community Council that combined parents and educators to work together to improve your school.  Funding is sent directly to Community Councils and this year schools will be getting the most funds in the Community Council’s history.  These funds should be used to address the schools “greatest academic needs.”  SAGE scores show that reading instruction and scores are a great academic need in most Utah schools.  Please consider joining your community council or make a presentation to the community council and ask for funds to be used to purchase a systematic, explicit, sequenced, evidence-based reading intervention that is appropriate for students with dyslexia and other struggling reads.

Ask the council to pay for aids to help with small group instruction in reading and to purchase Structure Literacy based programs.
